Arby's Roast Burger: All American

The Arby's Roast Burgers are an interesting twist on the burger. Take everything that you would put on a burger and substitute the meat with roast beef. Not a bad idea really. The All American is just that, your classic hamburger with the meat switcheroo.

What the Advertising says:
"Everything you love about a great burger, with a twist. Piled high with oven roasted, thinly sliced beef, fresh lettuce, ripe tomato, pickles, onion, ketchup, mustard, and our tantalizing special sauce. Never fried, never greasy, it's the burger done better!"

Hype:
I'm happy to say yes, for once this does fulfil the advertising promise quite well. My first bite was a large mouthful of roast beef. In fact the sandwich did have a health pile of meat which can be seen in the picture. All the condoments were there and in good proportion. Their special sauce is, lets face it, just mayonaise but it is in a nice position on top of the meat and under the top bun. And they are correct in the billing as a non-greasy burger. Hype rating: 5/5

Taste:
Its good, in fact its really good. It is a very worthy replacement for a non greasy burger. In fact I would say that It is in the top 75% of all my burger reviews. The meat is tasty as all of Arby's beef is so if you like their other roast beef sandwiches you will enjoy this one. However you tend to miss that nice charbroiled taste that usually accompanies a good burger. The bun is a good size for the burger, not too big or small, and not at all heavy. My only complaint would be the vegetable condiments. I would have liked to see a slightly larger size to the tomato as it seems to get lost in the managerie at the bottom of the burger. Also Arby's uses shredded lettuce for all of their products. I have never been a fan of shredded lettuce and I can't give a perfect score to any burger that uses it.
Taste rating: 4/5

Appearance and ease of consumption:
As always your mileage may vary but my sandwich was assembled and prepared in a suitable manner. Nothing sticking out and no runs, drips or fouls. This burger would be very suitable to eat one handed or while driving without too many problems.
Appearance: A
Good to go: Yes

Overall Arby's All American Roastburger scores very highly across the board. Get one soon, you wont be dissappointed.
